Motocross Gifts for Kids, Babies and the Parents Who Load the Truck

October 20, 2026

Moto Since Birth custom number plate ornament engraved with a name, number 13 and the year, held up in front of a lit Christmas tree

Moto families are hard to shop for. Anything with a part number blows the holiday budget, and the stuff they need, another air filter or a fresh set of grips, might not be much fun to unwrap on Christmas morning.

So this list goes by who's getting it: the baby, the kid doing laps of the living room, the moto mom and moto dad who get everyone to the gate on time, and the pit itself. Some of it we make. Some of it came straight from moto parents talking gifts on the forums.

If you'd rather skip straight to shopping, the holiday gifts page has every pick in one place.

Before anything goes under the tree

Gifts for babies and toddlers come with rules, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission puts them out every holiday season. They mention to "Choose age-appropriate toys that match the child's interests and abilities." Then the one that matters most for the littlest riders: "Keep small balls and toys with small parts away from children younger than age 3, as these are choking hazards."

The CPSC also wants "high-powered magnets and button cell or coin batteries" kept away from young children, because kids can swallow them. And if the big gift has wheels, the helmet should come in the same box. The CPSC says to "get safety gear, including helmets, for scooters and other riding toys," and that helmets "should be worn properly at all times and be sized to fit."

For the baby

The Moto Baby Teether. One piece of food-grade silicone shaped like a set of bars, with no cord, no beads and nothing to work loose. ACT Lab tested it against ASTM F963-23, the US toy safety standard. It's graded 0+, and it goes in the dishwasher after it hits the dirt.

The infant one piece. 100% cotton in sizes 3-6 months through 12-18 months, with snaps at the bottom, so a change on the tailgate takes about four seconds.

Moto Milestones. Thirteen laser-engraved wooden discs shaped like race number plates. The first one carries their name, birth date, time, weight and length, then there's one for every month from 1 to 12, ready for the monthly photo. Add a race number if they've already got one picked out. We email a proof before we engrave, which is why this one shouldn't wait until the week before Christmas.

For the kid doing laps of the living room

The toddler tee and baby tee. Combed and ring-spun cotton, in 2T through 5T for toddlers and 6-12 months through 18-24 months for babies. Both are printed when you order them.

A cuffed beanie for cold mornings at the track. A 12-inch cuff in 100% acrylic, big and comfy enough to fit kids too. Hand wash only.

A balance bike, if it's in the budget. We don't make one, but if a first bike is going under the tree, go back to that CPSC line and put a helmet in the same box, sized to fit.

For the moto mom and moto dad

The Moms tee since Moto moms run the pit. They pack the trailer, find the goggles nobody else can find and hold the stopwatch. High-waisted women's cut in combed and ring-spun cotton, S through XL.

The Dads tee, Girl Dad and Moto Patriot. All three share the same blank, AS Colour 5001T in 100% combed cotton, S through 3XL, so if one fits, they all do. Girl Dad is for the ones raising riders who'll out-ride their brothers.

The stuff that makes a race day easier: When a moto parent on the Vital MX forums asked what to get a moto mom, the answers that stuck were about surviving a long day at the track: rechargeable hand warmers, a camp chair worth sitting in from first practice to the last moto, polarized sunglasses, muck boots, and a gift card to the local moto shop. One reply skipped all of that and nominated the biggest trophy there is (we agree!).

For the pit

The Moto Since Birth flag. Two feet by three feet of polyester knit, printed on one side, with two metal grommets for zip-tying it to the canopy. Everyone knows whose pit they walked into.

Stocking stuffers

The Custom Moto Plates ornament. That same forum thread had moto parents hunting for custom number plate ornaments, and this is ours: a round golden mirror ornament with a checkered ring, laser engraved in-house with a name, a plate number, and the year. Baby's first Christmas, a kid's first season on a bike, or the year the 65 came home.

And of course, a spare teether, since the first one ends up in the dirt during a long race day.

The way we see it

Order the personalized pieces first so they get there on time. The ornament and the Milestones discs get engraved one at a time, the discs wait on your proof approval, and anything personalized is final sale, so check the spelling before you hit the button.

Orders ship from Santa Ana, California, and shipping usually runs 5 to 7 days. Apparel is printed when you order it, which adds a few days before it ships. The rest of this list can wait a little. Get the engraved stuff in early.
